Mollie Kuhlman, age 101, of Winthrop passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Benedictine Court in St. Peter, Minnesota. Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 1, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. (Two hours prior), ALL at church.

Mollie Almira Kuhlman was born at home in rural Mentor, Minnesota, on January 17, 1922, to Roy and Elodie (Ely) Phipps. When she was 3, her family moved to Winona County and she started first grade in Utica, Minnesota. In 1929, her family moved to St. James, Minnesota. Mollie was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in St. James. In 1936, her family moved to Lewisville. Mollie graduated from St. James High School in 1940 and furthered her education at Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, graduating in 1945.

On July 22, 1945, Mollie was united in marriage to Roy Kuhlman at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville, Minnesota. She was later confirmed, after marriage, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville, Minnesota, in 1946. After their marriage the couple farmed near Darfur and Lewisville before moving to Bismarck Township, Sibley County, Minnesota, in 1957. They were blessed with five children. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Mollie and Roy shared 68 years of marriage when Roy passed away on September 19, 2013.

Mollie was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop and was active in choir, Ladies Guild, and did devotions at the Good Samaritan Home. Her community service included Red Cross, DAC in Arlington, Farm Bureau, Winthrop Good Samaritan and WELS Prison ministry. Over the years she worked at the Gaylord Hospital, Good Samaritan Home in Gaylord and Good Samaritan in Winthrop, Gaylord Lakeview Nursing Home. She also did Home Health Nursing for Sibley County.

Mollie enjoyed living on the farm, reading, politics, bird watching, cooking and gardening, especially flower gardening. She loved all kinds of flowers, perennials to wild flowers and knew every name of all her flowers. She loved her family very much and spending time with them. After a visit she would always say thank you and "God Bless."

Mollie is survived by her: Children, Richard Kuhlman and his wife, Diane of The Villages, FL, Nancy Lind and her husband, Dean of LeSueur, MN, Norman Kuhlman and his wife, Phyllis of St. Peter, MN, Elizabeth Schmidt and her husband, Tim of Winthrop, MN, and
Mary Larson and her husband, Joseph of Mazeppa, MN; 15 Grandchildren, Paul (Sandy) Kuhlman, Beth Kuhlman, Jared (Rachel) Lind, Greta (Corey) Fennell, Nicole Borsheim, Jennifer Milbrath, Josh (Becky) Schmidt, Adam (Jessica) Schmidt, Katie (Chad) Cisewski, Cassie (Dave) Hendrickson, Sara (Jon) Erickson, Emily (Bob) Flaaen, Andrew (Tory) Larson, Maria (Scott) Claussen, and William (Taylor) Larson; 37 Great-Grandchildren; Siblings, Gladys Lewis; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mollie was preceded in death by her Husband, Roy Kuhlman; Brothers, Alfred Phipps, Fred Phipps and his wife, Margie, Tim Phipps and his wife, Linda; Sisters, Marie Thomas and her husband, Al, Sussie Kuhlman and her husband, Willis; Brother-in-law, Leslie Lewis.
