Jimmy Steven Shields, 70, of Mount Hope, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at his residence . Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Mount Hope, AL.

Born on August 14, 1952, to William and Bernice White Shields, Jimmy enjoyed hunting, shop talk with his buddies, and working in his gun shop.

Survivors include his spouse of 50 years Dorothy Taylor Shields; one son, Steven Shields (Allison); four grandchildren, Waylon Stone, Kason Stone, Ethan Stone, and Addisyn Shields; one sister-in-law, Sue N. Trapp; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernice White Shields; three brothers, Zane Shields, Roger Shields, and Autry Shields; and one sister, Dee Shields.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family extends special thanks to Shoals Hospice for their care and compassion.
