Jerry Roger Shields, 75, Phil Campbell, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 after a brief illness.

Mr. Shields lived most of his life in Franklin County and was a member of First Baptist Church in Phil Campbell. He was a marine veteran and a retired driver from Reynolds/Wise.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 17, 2015 from noon until 3 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Sammy Wallace and Tim Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Joe Shields; daughter, Cynthia Lee Williams and husband, John Kevin; grandchildren, Ambra Lee Alewine, Tori Brooke Williams; great-grandchildren, Braylee Makenna Alewine, Paisley Brooke Balentine; brothers, Autry and Jimmy Shields; nephew, Alan Ray Bates; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, William Howard and Alice Bernice Shields; brother, Darrell Boyles; sister, Zane Shields.
