Autry “Paw” Shields, 69, of Mt. Hope passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at North Alabama Medical Center. Visitation will be from 3 till 5 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Trevor Hallmark officiating.

Autry was a great husband, father, and papaw to his grandchildren and great grandchildren who will all miss him very much. He enjoyed creating anything he could think of with cedar and working in his shop.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Wonette Shields; children, Amy Kerby (Wesley) and Marcus Shields (Cindy); grandchildren, Shawn Roper (Morgan), Rachel Roper (Anthony), Dylan Moore, and Skylar Moore; great-granddaughters, Sadie Roper and AnnaLee White; brother, Jimmy Shields; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Autry was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Bernice Shields; sister, Dee Boyles; and brothers, Zane Shields and Roger Shields.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
