FRANCES LUCAS' HUSBAND WILLIAM SPRAGGINS IS NOT THE SAME AS NANCY ABNEY'S HUSBAND WILLIAM SPAGGINS NOR WILLIAM O. SPRAGGINS. From Raymond Noland Scott, the following research to add a new William as son of William & Nancy Abney Spraggins.

This grave site has William Spraggins that married Nancy Abney as also William Spraggins that married Frances Lucas (daughter of James Record) 20 July 1769 in Halifax County, Virginia which was where William and Martha (Abney) Spraggins lived. Their 1769 marriage was listed in Halifax County marriage records.

Findagrave.com/memorial/140847812.

This site mentions about a William Spraggins having other children with his second wife Frances Spraggins and that they were married in 1769, but

The site lists his wife Nancy Abney lived from 1767 - 1793
all of their children were born well after the 1769 marriage of William and Frances (Lucas) Spraggins.

Obviously, Nancy Abney's husband William Spraggins and my Frances Lucas' husband William Spraggins were not the same person.

I found another findagrave site, #73950292, with my 8th Great Grandfather William Spraggins with spouse, my 8th Great Grandmother Frances Lucas Spraggins and child my 7th Great Grandmother Frances Spraggins Weatherford.

The will of Nancy Abney's husband William Spraggins of Abbeville, South Carolina is attached to his profile

He is also listed as married on 30 March 1790, Pittsylvania County, VA
that's the marriage date and place of my 7th Great Grandmother Frances Spraggins to her husband , my 7th Great Grandfather Money Weatherford

He died in Campbell County, Virginia. He wasn't in North Carolina like Nancy Abney's husband, William was, it mentions his wife Frances Spraggins and their children;
Nathaniel, William, Jesse, James, Thomas, Fanney, Emila, & Sarah

He refers to his wife as Martha.

He mentions his four children, namely Tabitha Adkinson, Sarah Week, William Spraggins, and Thomas Spraggins

There is no mention of Nathaniel, Fanney, James, Jesse, nor Emilia.

Nancy Abney's husband William may have been a nephew of Frances Lucas' husband William

I have interest in the correction of this memorial site because I am a 7th great grandson of Frances (Spraggins) Weatherford.

Some mix Frances Lucas' husband William Spraggins who died in Campbell County, Virginia in 1797 with William O. Spraggins who died in Charles County, Virginia in 1772.

They were not the same person.
