Dannett had just purchased 200 ac of land in King William Co., VA the year before Martha was born.

"Martha was born, by the author's estimation, around 1705. she was married circa 1719 to William Spraggins, making her about 14 years old at the time, and a very popular marrying age for a young lady of the 18th century. Her first son, Thomas Spraggins, was born about this same year (1719), probably in Henrico. County, VA." Abney Book, pg 66.

From History of Halifax County: "1755 October 5, Will of William Spraggins. Wife: Martha (Abney) to sons Thomas, and William, each one shilling sterling; to daughters, Susanna, Anne, Glory and Elizabeth, one shilling sterling each, to son Nathaniel, and my daughters Mary, Hannah, and Martha , land: wife Martha, and son Nathaniel, executors.

w/o William Spraggins. They lived on Catobo/Catawba Creek, Halifax Co. They married 1718 in St. Peter's Church, New Kent Co., VA.

Their children: Susanna, Ann, Glory, Nathaniel, Mary, Hannah, Martha, Elizabeth, William & Thomas.
