Franklin D. Allen, age 85, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Born November 4, 1937, in Trigg County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Noble B. Allen and Deltie (Cook) Allen. He had served in the United States Army and retired from the Lake Barkley State Resort Park after working 22 years in the maintenance department. He enjoyed playing guitar and other instruments, singing, riding four-wheelers and metal detecting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Corbett Allen, Robert Kelly Allen, Orman Duvall Allen and four sisters, Sylvie Estelle Allen, Flocy Lorene Allen, Goldie Maye Fowler, and Myrna Loy Sholar

He is survived by brother, Grady L. Allen of Portland, Tenn.; nephew, Jerry Sholar of Cadiz; special family, Jim and Claudia Estell of Cadiz and Tyler Estell of Cadiz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held in House Cemetery, Trigg County, Kentucky, at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, KY.
