Blanch Bernard Elliott, 91 of Shelby, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Heritage Place in Statesville.

Born in Cleveland County, NC on March 9, 1931, he was the son of the late Adlai Elzey Elliott, Sr. and Lula Mae Gantt Elliott. Mr. Elliott and the late Lois Farrow Elliott were the co-founders of Rose Hill Memorial Park and he was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Fallston Masonic Lodge #356 where he was formerly the treasurer. Mr. Elliott was a member of the Upper Cleveland Chamber, NC Cemetery Association and was a founding member of the Upper Cleveland Rescue Squad. Mr. Elliott also served as a coordinator for volunteers who did mission trips in Alaska.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Farrow Elliott; three brothers, Aldai Elliott, Jr., Robert Elliott and Frank Elliott; a sister, Elizabeth Jones and an infant sister.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Evelyn Hodge Elliott; five children, Brett Elliott and wife, Vickie of Fallston, Andy Elliott and wife, Jennifer of Spartanburg, SC; Chyrl Hood and husband, Durayne of Vale; Bruce Elliott and wife, Kim of Fallston, and Tim Elliott and wife, Pam of Mooresboro; a sister, Mary Davis of Greer, SC; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm from at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Friendship United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karen Doucette officiating.

Entombment will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
