Martha Elizabeth Elliott Tillman Jones, 93, of Aiken, SC, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken.
Born in Cleveland County, on August 14, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Adlai Elzy Elliott, Sr. and Lula Mae Gantt Elliott. Lib loved people, and this was evident in her work through helping found Tillman Music in Rock Hill, SC and finally retiring from Peebles in Charlotte. She will be fondly remembered for her love of playing canasta, spending time at the beach, and her out of this world banana pudding.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Jones; three brothers, Aldai Elliott, Jr., Robert Elliott, and Frank Elliott; and an infant sister.
She is survived by her four children, Janet Morgan and husband, Don of Eatonton, GA, Brenda McKinney and husband, Jim of Aiken, SC, Jerry Tillman and wife, Beverly of Rock Hill, SC and Rick Tillman and wife, Patsy of Lincolnton; brother, Bernard Elliott of Fallston; sister, Mary Davis of Greer, SC; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM on Monday at Rose Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Fallston, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM in the Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Tim Gold officiating.
