Norma Marie Gronewold, age 90, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at her home. She was the last of her immediate family.

Norma was born on March 10, 1932 in Quincy, Illinois to Claude H. and Mabel Irene (Acton) Rummerfield, the third of five children. She married Kenneth Alvin Gronewold on November 4, 1950 in Peoria Heights, IL. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2008. Also preceding her in death are her son, Mark; her daughter, Cynthia; her parents; and her siblings, Claude "Jack" Rummerfield, Jr., Vernon "Butch" Rummerfield, Lorene Joos and Millie Dobbins.

Norma worked for J.C. Penney, International Paper Company and McDonald's Restaurant. After her retirement, Norma had a place in her heart for people with special needs and would organize parties for them at Valley Lakes Country Club. She was also an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and Joy Circle of St. Mark's.

Surviving are her children, Allan (Mary Anna) Gronewold of Sparland, IL and Kyle (Laurie) Gronewold of Streator, IL; her son-in-law, Don Gorman of Peoria Heights.

A graveside service will be held at Chillicothe City Cemetery.
