Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Chillicothe with visitation beginning at 12 noon. Pastor Steven Mall will officiate. Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery.
Mark was born on Jan. 9, 1958, to Kenneth and Norma (Rummerfield) Gronewold. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth, and a great-niece, Gabrielle Gorman. Surviving are his mother, Norma, and three siblings, Cynthia (Donald) Gorman, Allan (Mary Anna) Gronewold and Kyle (Laurie) Gronewold. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mark went to work for International Paper Co. right after graduating high school. He served in the Air Force for four years. He was currently working at Original Smith Printing.
In his spare time, he was a Chillicothe volunteer fireman for 35 years. When he was younger he loved riding motorcycles. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Whether it be watching one of their activities or riding bikes, fishing, camping or going to movies. As for his great-nieces and great-nephews, he liked spending time with them at a playground area or somewhere to play video games.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital. Weber-Hurd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
