I believe her maiden name was Avey rather than Avery because it appears that way at least twice, 100 years apart.
It is Avey on her 1831 marriage record, and on her son Artemas' 1934 death cert.
There is also a Martha Avey who married a John Hull in 1835 in Clermont Co., Ohio.
