She lived on Keller Lane at Hebron, off Highway 431 North. She had been in good health until it was found in July that she had a brain tumor.
Her husband, Allen Bearden, who was a carpenter, died in 1994. Her sister, Mae Wells, moved here from Arkansas at that time to live with her.
She was a lifelong resident of the Honeycomb-Hebron area near Grant.
Her parents were Jody and Cassie Dunn. She and Mr. Bearden were married in 1935. All of their 12 children are living except one, Jeff Bearden.
She was a member of the Community Baptist Church at Hebron. She liked working with flowers and being with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Debbie White of Gurley; 10 sons, Fred Bearden, Billy Bearden, Johnny Bearden, Darrell Bearden and Curtis Bearden, all of Grant, Jimmy Bearden, Kenneth Bearden, David Bearden and Ray Bearden, all of New Hope, and Gary Bearden of Georgia; two sisters, Mae Wells of Hebron and Onema Carr of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Paseur and the Rev. Dewayne Martin officiating. Interment will be at Walker Cemetery.
