RITES ARE HELD FOR DR. COLE
GLENWOOD - Funeral services for Dr. Arthur Cole, 71, were Wednesday, May 4, at the Peterson Mortuary here. The Rev. Harvey Quandt officiated and burial was in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs.
Dr. Cole died Sunday, May 1, 1977 at Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, following a heart attach while attending an optometrist convention in Des Moines.
Dr. Cole, son of Mr and Mrs. George Cole, was born August 23, 1905 in Red Oak. He was a 1922 graduate of Red Oak High School.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma; daughter, Mrs. Sally Wild of Seal Beach, California; stepson, Jack Hall, Council Bluffs; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Bazar of Red Oak, Mrs. Grace Caldwell of Santa Monica, California, Mrs. Georgia Nye of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Ruth Edwards of Claremont, California.
Dr. Cole formerly owned a jewelry store in Glenwood and was a former President of the Glenwood Chamber of Commerce. He was in business for over 20 years in Red Oak, but at the time of his death was associated with The Capitol Optical Company in Council Bluffs.
