Cole (Founders of Cole's Jewelry Store), graduated from Red Oak High School, attended Red Oak Junior College, and graduated from Iowa State University in 1934 with a degree in home economics. She worked as a dietician at the University of Chicago, where she met and married Dr. Sydney K. Edwards. The couple lived in Boston, Mass. and Orange, New Jersey, before moving to Pomona in 1951. She had resided in Claremont more than 20 years. She was a member of the Claremont Chapter of the American Red Cross, Assistance League of Pomona Valley, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Auxiliary and Pilgrim Congregational in Pomona.
