Billy R Hutson, 81, passed away at his home in Niceville, Florida on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, with his daughter and wife of 50 years by his side. Bill was born in Fletcher, Oklahoma on August 30, 1941, to the late Margaret Adeline Hutson.

Bill graduated from Fletcher High School in 1959 and joined the Air Force in 1960. He served in the Air Force for 20 years. His last duty station was Eglin AFB, Florida. This is where he met the love of his life, Gladys. Dad retired from the Air Force in 1980 and went to work for what is now BAE Systems. He retired from BAE after 23 years.

He loved his family, and he loved sports. GO BRAVES! He was a common figure at his grand children's games. He was known by everyone as "Grandpa". It didn't matter the season or sport he was always there to show support for all his kids. The Lady Eagles Softball team will surely miss their biggest fan. On Friday nights he could be found at Eagle Stadium sitting on the visitor's side watching his boys play as he had done for the last 40 years until he fell ill.

Along with sports he loved woodworking and playing a "friendly" game of pool. He loved building furniture for his family and friends. He would stay in his little shop for hours working on projects for those he loved. After he retired, he would still meet up with his coworkers on Friday afternoons at the local pool hall to run the table. In the mornings he loved to sit on the back porch and watch the birds while drinking his coffee.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Ann Hutson, son Blaine (Joe) Smith, five sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, a sister, eight Grandchildren, and six Great Grandchildren.

A celebration of life with full military honors was held at Bluewater Community Church 4580 Range Road Niceville, Florida.
