Kitty was the fourth oldest of 14 children. The Murphy family owned and operated a family farm in Lena and Kitty shared in the daily chores with her brothers and sisters throughout her school years.
Kitty graduated from Lena High School in 1956. After graduation, Kitty's dream was to travel, and despite her mother's best efforts to keep her close to home, Kitty's travels took her as far away as Milwaukee, WI.
Kitty was a very attractive, energetic and outgoing lady and her heart was won by Alfred "Al" Glish of Crivitz, WI.
Al and Kitty were married on June 23, 1962 in Milwaukee and remained faithfully married until Al passed in 2016; they were married for 54-years.
Kitty and Al initially struggled to have kids, but after years of trying, they were blessed with two beautiful children, Michelle (Glish) Ogorek and Michael Glish.
Al and Kitty would drive their family from Milwaukee to the Glish family farm in Crivitz virtually every weekend to work on remodeling the Kirby Hill School House into their family home.
Kitty and Al moved to Crivitz permanently in 1974, and after Kitty's successful battle with cancer, she and Al raised their family and lived out their years just west of Crivitz.
While living in Milwaukee, Kitty worked several jobs but her favorite was as an assembler for Briggs and Stratton.
After moving to Crivitz, Kitty worked at the Shaffer Park motel and restaurant.
Kitty's interests included gardening, shopping, gathering with her brothers and sisters, socializing with her closest friends, and spending time with her two children and four grandchildren.
She is survived by four brothers, [ Paul, Vince, Bill and Pat Murphy]; one sister Rosalie Murphy;
her daughter Michelle (Peter) Ogorek, son Michael (Lisa) Glish, and four grandchildren Tyler (Ashley), Emily, Cecilia and Christopher.
Kitty was proceeded in death by her husband Al,
her mother and father, six brothers and two sisters.
As a long-time member of the St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Crivitz, Kitty's family will receive family and friends at the St. Mary's Church from 9am to 11am on February 18th, followed immediately by a Catholic Mass to celebrate Kitty's wonderful life on earth and to begin her journey to Heaven. Kitty will be laid for eternal rest alongside her loving husband at St. Mary's Cemetery in Crivitz.
