Clyde C. Buck,
67, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday morning, July 10, 1983, in a Knoxville hospital following a lingering illness. He was the son of the late Noah Buck and the late Margaret Hill Buck and was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Buck. He was a retired postmaster after 32 years service with the Armathwaite Post Office. He was an income tax accountant for 23 years and worked four years as bookkeeper for Frenches Shoe Service. Mr. Buck was a member of the Jamestown Masonic Lodge #281 and Jamestown Eastern Star #373. He attended the South Main Street Baptist Church in Jamestown. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Marcum Buck of Jamestown; two sisters: Ethel Dunford of Armathwaite, and Lula Richardson of Kingstown; one brother, John Woodrow Buck of Armathwaite; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the Jennings Funeral Home in Jamestown, with Brother Tommy Duncan and Brother Harold Rosser officiating. Burial followed in the Smith Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers were: Jim Brooks, Boyd Brown, Joe French, Dr. Evon Hubbard, Bob Mullins, Clifton Wheaton, and Raymond Wheaton.
