James Cheek, of Burnet died Saturday at a Kingsland nursing home.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Loraine Cemetery,
directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
He was born in Tupelo, Mississippi and was a retired farmer and
carpenter. He had lived in Burnet for three years and is formerly
from Loraine and Midland.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Cheek of Temple; a daughter,
Jerri Pendley of Anaheim, California; three step-daughters, Venilee
Jones of Temple, Eldora Owens of Midland and Minnie. Conley of
Houston; a stepson, E. V. Lincoln of Calfornia; and a sister, Judson
Scrivner of Burnet.
