Mrs. Avant
TENNILLE - Mrs. Para Deal Avant, 90, died Tuesday in a Washington County hospital. Services were to be held at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Mayo-Lord Funeral Home in Sandersville. Burial was to be in Washington County Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Robert Scott and the Rev. Harold Deal were to officiate.
Mrs. Avant, a native of Telfair County, was a retired civil service worker and a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James (Barbara) Francis of Sandersville; two granddaughters, Mrs. Paul Sikes of Byron and Mrs. Barbara Lester of Augusta; a grandson, Ray Leverett of Tennille; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
