Mrs. Barbara Avant Francis, 68, of Sandersville, died Tuesday, Dec. 24. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 26, from the chapel of Mayo-Lord Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Boyd officiating, assisted by William Brown. Burial was in Washington County Memorial Gardens.
A native of Washington County, she was born March 11, 1917 the daughter of William H. and Para Deal Avant. A homemaker, she was a member of Sisters Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James O. Francis of Sandersville, two daughters, Connie Sakes of Macon and Barbara Lester of Augusta; a son, Ray Leverett of Warner Robins.
Pallbearers were Twiggs Tanner, Oscar Wommack, Frank May, Billy Wright, Earl Trussell and Ronnie Trussell.
Mayo-Lord Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
