• RINGLING -- Funeral services for Bonnie Lucille Apala Griffith, 83, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Ringling with Jimmy Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery.

Born June 27, 1918, at Hewitt, Okla., to Mulbert Jonas Apala and Susie Francis Emerson Apala. She died July 21, 2001, at Ardmore. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, "Tom" Apala and Mulbert J. Apala Jr.; and a sister, Wanda Apala Meyers.

She married Burl Jasper Griffith on Nov. 13, 1937, at Ringling, Okla.

She was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church of Ringling and she loved her church family dearly. She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. After their marriage, she and Burl spent the rest of their lives in the Ringling-Pinto area.

Survivors include her husband, Burl, of the home; five daughters and three sons-in-law, R.C. and Jean Shipman, Arlington, Texas, Pat Griffin, Healdton, Okla., Michael and Joanie Georgia, Decatur, Texas, Linda Gant, Oklahoma City, Charles and Janice Januszowski, Terrell, Texas; a son, Charles Griffith, Ringling; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Also five sisters, Ruth Jackson, Durant, Vivian Gordan, Grand Prairie, Texas, Billie Griffith, Lone Grove, Ruby Phillips, Ringling, and Shirley Lemons, Madill; and two brothers, Gilbert Apala, Ringling, and Pat Apala, also Ringling.

Bearers will be Terry Griffin, Tony Griffin, Scott Shipman, Chris Gant, Mark Kennedy and Jay Goode.

Spivey's Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
