Manuel was born on October 18, 1920 in Tulare, CA to Frank & Maria Orique, who were both born in the Azores. He passed away on February 26, 2012 in Hanford, CA at Hanford Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Manuel has lived in Hanford for 60 years.

Manuel married Angie Alves on September 24, 1945, 65 years of marriage. Manuel attended Tulare County schools. After marrying Angie, Manuel worked several years for the Jim Marshal Ranch in Traver, CA. Upon leaving the Marshal Ranch, Manuel started his own Farm Pickup Milk can route, which he continued until his employment with Kings County Truck Lines for 30 years. He loved spending time with his family. Some of his favorite pass times were gardening, B-B-Q and spending time with all of his children and grandchildren.

Manuel was preceded in death by his wife; Angie and his parents; Frank & Maria Orique. He is survived by his children; his son & wife, Frank & Sandy Orique of Tulare, CA, his daughters & husbands, Edith & Ed Fontes of Visalia, CA, Peggy & Manuel Souza of Hanford, CA, Janet & Gabe Pacheco of Tulare, CA and Linda & Tony Flores of Hanford, CA. Manuel has 10 beautiful grandchildren and 4 precious great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at People's Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty St., Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-5591. A Rosary & Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Brigid Catholic Church; 1000 N. Douty St., Hanford, CA 93230 559-582-2533.
