Angie was born on October 20, 1925 in Selma, CA to Frank Alves & Mary DeBrum Perry Alves, who were both born in the Azores. She passed away on September 9, 2011 in Hanford, CA at Hanford Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Angie has lived in Hanford for 60 years.
Angie married Manuel Orique on September 24, 1945, 65 years of marriage. Angie attended Selma schools. Angie worked for Libby's Cannery for 30 years, every summer and was primarily a Homemaker all her life. She loved spending time with her family. Some of her favorite pass times were sewing, doing crafts and crocheting. She crocheted Afghans for all of her grandchildren. She was a wonderful bread baker.
Angie was preceded in death by both of her parents; Frank & Mary Alves. She is survived by her beloved husband, Manuel Orique of Hanford, CA. She also leaves behind her five adoring children; her son & wife, Frank & Sandy Orique of Tulare, CA, her daughters & husbands, Edith & Ed Fontes of Visalia, CA, Peggy & Manuel Souza of Hanford, CA, Janet & Gabe Pacheco of Tulare, CA and Linda & Tony Flores of Hanford, CA. Angie has 10 beautiful grandchildren and 4 precious great-grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at People's Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty St., Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-5591. A Rosary & Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Brigid Catholic Church; 1000 N. Douty St., Hanford, CA 93230 559-582-2533.
