Jo Ann Adkins Williams, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. She was of the Christian Faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bud" Williams; her parents, Earl and Mae Hicks Adkins; three brothers, Bruce Adkins, Winston Adkins and Paul Douglas Adkins; and a sister, Peggy Sue Hayes.
Surviving are three sons, Benny Williams, David Williams and Steve Williams all of Wise; six grandchildren, Robert Brian Williams, Melissa Suzanne Williams, Sarah Mae Williams, Emily Dawn Williams, Hannah Williams and David Malcom Williams; six great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Adkins and wife Teresa of Wise; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jo Ann Williams will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Jim Collie officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside committal services and burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in the Wise Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wise County Christian School, P.O. Box 3297, Wise, VA 24293.
