Paul Douglas "Doug" Adkins WISE, Va. Paul Douglas "Doug" Adkins, 88, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, June 6, 2016, at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member and past deacon of the Trinity Life Center Church in Coeburn, a member and past master of the Wise Masonic Hoge Lodge #8 A.F.&A.M. and was a retired coal operator. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Bobbie Pauline Adkins. Those left to cherish his memory are four daughters, Debbie Estep and husband, Roger, Phyllis Mullins and husband, Jimmy, Paula Akers and husband, David, and Connie Roberts and husband, Van; son, Jeff Adkins and wife, Teresa; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Adkins and wife, Teresa; sister, JoAnn Williams; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank The Laurels Assisted Living Facility and Wellmont Hospice. Funeral services for Doug Adkins will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, Va. with Pastor John McCarroll officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m. at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, Va. Burial will be held in the Wise Cemetery.
