SUPREME SUMMONS
James Allison, a well know resident of Holmes County, died last Friday, Nov. 1, at his home, six miles west of Millersburg. He had been in poor health for the past year, but not until the last week of his illness was he confined to his bed. Deceased was born in Washington county, Pa., August 6, 1832. He was married in early manhood to Ann J. Philips, also of Pennsylvania, and moved to this county in 1854, where they resided 47 years. The funeral occurred Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Welcome church, conducted by Rev. J. L. Snyder of Howard, O., assisted by Rev. A. M. Bird of Fredricksburg. There was a large number of friends and relatives present. Those from a distance were J. B. Allison, Pittsburg; J. F. Philips and Mrs. S. B. Boyer, Mt. Lebanon, Pa.; Virgil Cline, Greenwhich, O.; Mrs. C. S. Crawford, Akron. Mr. Allison's age was 69 years, 2 months and 25 days. He leaves a wife, eight children, one brother and many friends and relatives to mourn his death.
