Clara H. Meuer, age 87, of Chilton, died on December 10, 2022, at Willowdale Health Services in New Holstein. She was born June 21, 1935, daughter of the late August and Bertha (Simon) Ecker. She graduated from Stockbridge High School and went on to attend U.W. Madison where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. After college she worked in the testing lab at the Rahr Malting Co. in Manitowoc, WI. On October 3, 1959, she married John Meuer at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge. They farmed just north of Brothertown and had 3 sons. After the boys were old enough to help on the farm, Clara attended FVTC where she received her Food Service Supervisor's degree. She worked at Willowdale Nursing home and then at the Calumet Co. Homestead, followed by a time as a traveling hospice worker for Agnesian Health Care.

Whether it was flowers, vegetables or berries, Clara loved to garden and travel. She could be found everyday in the summer out tending her gardens. And of course she was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, win or lose, as evident by her and John being Green Bay Packers share owners.

Clara is survived by her 3 sons: David (Leslie) Meuer, Blue Hill, ME; Jim Meuer, New Holstein; and Robert (Loli) Meuer, Springfield, IL.; four grandchildren: Chris (Megan) Meuer, Sarah (Mike) Schanke, Stefanie Meuer, and John Meuer; a great-grandchild: Amelia Schanke; and her siblings: Lucy Fennig, Elsie Popp, and Paul Ecker; along with many nieces and nephews.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents: August and Bertha Ecker; her siblings: Arthur Ecker, Jerome (Sofia) Ecker, and Fred (Myrna) Ecker; and brothers-in-law: Richard Fennig and Herbert Popp.

Thank you to everyone at Willowdale for your special care that you gave Clara during her last months and days. Also, a special thank you to the hospice nurses Anna, Lindsay, and Amanda for your attention to our mother.

Private services are being planned at this time.
