1)William Fletcher BARNES Famous Rockford Industrialist was, Originally of Livingston County NY. W.F. b. b. 1841 died after 1920 and was buried at the Forest View Abbey re-interred at some point between 1960-1985 in neighboring Greenwood Cemetery (West Side Cemetery). m. Julia Katherine GOULD b. abt. 1850 OH.
Two of his brothers were in business with him in the woodworking machine business. He also owned a Bank in Rockford.
2)John BARNES b. Aug 1834 in New York probably MT. Morris. d. Aft 1900 probably in Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois remained in partnership with his brother. His son took over the company.
3) B. Franklin BARNES after 30 years with his brothers, went on to form Barnes Drill Co in 1907 (d. July 29, 1919). His company is now Barnes International.
4) Roscoe C. BARNES b.5-08-1850 d.February 2-05-1915 in 1876 he was the National League Batting Champion, he is buried in the same plot as his parents in West side Cemetery.
5) J. Starkey BARNES remained in (Avon) Livingston County, NY.
6)Lucy T BARNES b. abt 1836 m. 01/23/1866 WINNEBAGO, Mr. Jay L. PUTNAM, d. before 1880 also lived Rochelle, Ogle County then in Rockford. (One son Jay b. abt 1868)
7) Martha BARNES m. 12/30/1869 WINNEBAGO, Mr. Frank A. BURNHAM, went to Saco, Maine.
8) Sarah BARNES (m.08/08/1864 ALBERT E BEACH?????) must have died before 1915.
