Sunday, November 13, 2022, Carl E Swan, 85, longtime resident of Guilford passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital. Beloved husband of Linda (Mancini) Swan. Mr. Swan was born in Seymour on March 25, 1937, son of the late Edward and Hilda (Smith) Swan. Loving father of Carl Swan and Carol Ann Swan both of Guilford.

Survived by his adopted son and wife, Kevin and MaryBeth Stankiewicz, grandchildren, Mathew, Tim, and Cassandra, four brothers, five sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, and the Hunt family.

Carl was a devoted communicant of St. George Church and longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 3928, where he served as past Grand Knight and District Deputy. He assisted with the Knights Hall – Bingo, Tootsie Roll Drive and local free throw events. Carl also coached Little League, Umpired Softball in Guilford, and earned his First-Degree Black Belt in Kempo Karate. In his retirement, Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to music, singing and watching movies, especially Westerns and Superman.

Friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, November 17 from 4 – 7 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Friday, November 18 at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Rd, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, Town of Branford, 749 East Main Street Branford CT 06405; https://www.branford-ct.gov/departments/animal-shelter
