Celia Vae Higley, Sasha Xarrian

1948-2022

Clearfield, UT-It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Sasha Xarrian, formerly Celia Vae Higley, in Manta, Ecuador. Sasha has been living abroad for most of the past 11 years with her treasured companion, Kristof (her 10-year-old Shi Tzu). Sasha lived life on the edge, always referring to it as an, "adventure". She adored taking walks around the small Ecuadorian and Panamanian towns, trying to communicate with the locals in her broken Spanish/mostly English, and taking long walks on the beach looking for seashells and laughing at Kristof trying to catch sand crabs.

Sasha grew up in a family of six children, in Clearfield, Utah. Her father, Edwin Higley, was a self-made successful businessman who ran away from home at an early age and never finished high school. This strong, wild spirit lived in Sasha as she was always looking for the next adventure to tackle. Her only dream in life was to be a good mother and wife and raising strong, spiritual, courageous kids. Time and time again she would push her children to do things that were uncomfortable to teach them to be fearless.

She gave birth to 7 children in 9 years, tragically losing her fifth child - sweet Sarah Lynn - several weeks after birth. Sasha's mom, Afton Higley, would always tell her that women were just as smart as men, fostering an unshakable belief that she was just as strong as she was beautiful. Sasha proved this time and time again as she became a single mom of 6 willful children, leaving the church she grew up in, questioning her beliefs, and finding creative ways to provide for her children.

Sasha loved to laugh, tease, and even wrestle her kids and grandkids. Never backing down from an arm-wrestling match, she would be the first to declare that she would be the winner. She had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and was often found devouring books on the mind and how to master your thoughts.

In her fifties, she wrote a trilogy of her life, Outrageous Mastery. In her writings she teaches how to create anything you want by consciously changing your belief system, taking bold action, and willing the impossible to happen. She has touched thousands of lives in 140+ countries through her books.

In Sasha's last decade years of life, she found herself struggling with P.T.S.D. She tried different therapies, studied experts in the field, and fought back as best she could. She found some comfort and peace in living by the sea, walking on the beach, and slowing down her very fast-paced life. She died on her terms: in her little piece-of-heaven condo overlooking the ocean, watching the birds fly by, with her companion, Kristof, by her side. May you fly high and free.

Sasha is preceded in death by her brother, Mark Higley; sister, Mala Kappos; father, Edwin Higley; and mother, Afton Higley.

Sasha is survived by her brothers, Greg, John and Matt Higley; sister, Arlene Charley; the father of her children, David Hunsaker, Sr.; 6 cherished children: Lisa Ilaga, Michael Skye, Katrina Ray, David Hunsaker, Jr., Alecia Rogers, and Jonathan Hunsaker; 17 beloved grandchildren: Ashley Hunsaker-Grimes, Julietta Viduya, Katerina Viduya, Alexander Viduya, Emma Ilaga, Nathan Ray, Jeremy Ray, Brianna Ray, Wyatt Hunsaker, Braedon Rogers, Darrian Rogers, Alea Rogers, Sammy Rogers, Annabelle Rogers, Evie Rogers, Alivia Hunsaker and Ava Hunsaker; and one great grandchild, Aida Boyden.
