Anchorage resident Helen May Morrow, 81, died June 6 at Providence Hospital. A funeral was held at the Denali Chapter No. 16, Order of the Eastern Star, officiating. Burial was June 13 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Caldwell, Idaho, with Nampa Chapter No. 30, Order of the Eastern Star, officiating. Arrangements were handled by Person-Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Nampa, Idaho.
Mrs. Morrow was born July 13, 1909, in Elida, N.M. During World War II, she served in the U.S. Army, WAAC's, in England aska in 1951, where she worked for the U.S. Army Alaska Petroleum Distribution System as a chief supervisor. After retiring in 1973, shemoving back to Alaska in 1988 to be near her family. She was a past Matron of Nampa Chapter No. 30, Order of the Eastern Star, and while the Ladies Shrine, Waheed Court No. 81, and was a past High Priestess of that organization. Mrs. Morrow enjoyed crocheting and needlework, aded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, one brother, and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. Morrow is survived by her sons, Howard Hobbs of Anchorage, John Hobbs of Ephrata, Wash., and Robert Hobbs of O'Fallon, Mo.; her stepson, Kenneth of Nampa; her sister, Hazel Parks of Meridian, Idaho; her brothers, Harley Hudgins of Anchorage, Horace Hudgins of St. Maries, Idaho, and Herbert Hudgins of California; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions in Mr. Morrow's name may be sent to the Al Aska Shrine Temple, Crippled Children's Travel Fund, 1730 E. Northern Lights Blvd., Anchorage 99503, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
