Harley Banton, 67, passed away peacefully at his home in Rebel Campground, Sardis, MS on June 2, 2021. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Harley was a man who loved his children and grandchildren above everything else. He loved spending time with them and was always there for them no matter what was going on in their lives. One of his daughters remarked that he was responsible for encouraging and guiding her to turn her life around. His greatest love was for the ones who called him "Grandfather" or "Pawpaw Boo Boo". He always told them to dream with their eyes wide open.
He was a happy family man who was laid back and a good listener. He was described as the funniest man on earth who loved to laugh and play jokes on people. He also enjoyed fishing and his dogs.
Harley was a sheet rocker and owner of B and B Construction.
Harley is survived by two sons, Morris Banton and Codie Banton; four daughters, Shylo McNatt, Kira Savage, Bethany Grist, and Desirae Teske; ten grandchildren, Bryr Banton, Courtney Winters, Sien McNatt, Jase McNatt, Ricky Keisling, Jr., Maximus Keisling, Jaden Grist, Brooklyn Teske, and Willow Teske; two sisters, Martha Carter and Mary Leflore; and the mothers of his children, Janice Vaughn and Cathie Tallant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Eva Bell Banton; four brothers, David Banton, Earnest Banton, Morris Banton, and Jim Banton; four sisters, Leola Dardy, Estella Banton, Juanita Yancy, and Geraldine Banton.
