James Rothwell (Red) Corbin was born December 6, 1919, in Moultrie, Ga., the son of Ridgeway W. and Carlie May Woodham Corbin, and died at his home on West 18th Street in Caruthersville Monday, November 15, 1971, at the age of 51 years, 11 months and nine days.

He was married to the former Miss Dorothy Barnes on December 20, 1941, at Caruthersville. They lived at Deering before moving to this city in the late 1940s. He taught school at Deering and after coming to Caruthersville owned and operated the G.E. appliance outlet here. He has also taught in the local high school for the past few years. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Services were held Wednesday afternoon in Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marvin Niblack and Dr. Floyd V. Brower officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery with Dean Funeral Home service.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Corbin of the home; two sons, Ridgeway Corbin of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jerry Ray Corbin of this city; a daughter, Mrs. Jo Lynn Barrow of LaCenter, Ky.; one grandchild; and two brothers, Gerald Corbin of Caruthersville and Ray Corbin of Jonesboro, Ill.
