Funeral services were held yesterday (Thursday) afternoon from the Baptist church in this city, conducted by the Rev. D.K. Foster, for Mrs. Carlie Mae Corbin, wife of R.W. Corbin of this city, who died Tuesday at their home on East Ninth street. She had been in ill health for a long time, in fact, had scarcely been well from the time of undergoing an operation some three years or so ago.
Mrs. Corbin was 53 years old, having been born December 9, 1892 at Opp, Ala., the daughter of McCagle and Julia Carroll Woodham. The family had lived in this city for the past six and one half years, coming here and Mr. Corbin entering business here, from Des Loge, Mo.
Immediate survivors, aside from the husband include three sons and three grandchildren, being Ray Corbin of Cape Girardeau, Gerald of this city and J.R. Corbin of Deering and their three daughters, June Ray, Judith Ann and JoLynn. Also surviving are three sisters, Mdmes. J.L. Jennings of Birmingham, Ala., H.C. Tyson of Opp, Ala. and Harry O'Brien of Hattiesburg, Miss. A foster brother, N.W. Woodham of Haleyville, Ala. also survive.
Interment was in Little Prairie Cemetery, Thursday afternoon, with LaFo4gte service.
