Norma Jean Counce, 82 of Hoxie, passed away October 11, 2022, in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Born September 14, 1940; daughter of the late James and Irene Gatewood. She was united in marriage to Daniel C. Counce on September 13, 1958. Norma owned and operated Simple Quilting Stiches. She loved to sew, quilting, do crafts, and artworks.
She is preceded by her parents; her husband, Daniel in 1988; a daughter and son-n-law, Gail and Lonnie Broadwater; and one grandson, Randy Broadwater; eight brothers and sisters, Pauline Newman, Alice Landsdale, Tiny, Buddy and Jimmy Gatewood, Linda Statton, Laverne Hyde, and Johanna Petero.
Survivors include her two sons, Danny Ray (Janie) Counce of Hoxie, and Richard (Eugene) Counce of Paragould; five grandchildren, Carol (Johnny) Surber, Sara (Bill) Faber, Chris (Debra) Counce, Blake (Allison) Counce and Melinda Counce; two great grandchildren, Erica Lucas, and Braxton Counce; two brothers, Clark (Geraldine) Gatewood of Clover Bend and Bob (Delois) Gatewood of Paragould; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be Friday, October 14, 2022, at 2 P.M. in the Whittaker Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blake and Chris Counce, Trent, Jeff, and Clark Gatewood.
Visitation will be from 12 P.M. till 1:30 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel.
