Fred Davis, age 77, died May 8, 1972 at Elkview General Hospital, Hobart, Kiowa County, Oklahoma.

He was born March 17, 1895 in Romulus, Pottawatomie County, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma), to James Henry Davis II and Sarah Ann Moon Davis.

Fred Davis, age 22, Hobart and Floy Ellen Anderson, age 18, Lone Wolf were married August 25, 1917 in Hobart, Kiowa County, Oklahoma. They were married by A. C. Holland, Justice of the Peace. Witnesses were G. W. Huckaby and Mr. H. Anderson, Hobart, Oklahoma.

Floy and Fred Davis had nine children: Ellen, Warren G., Dorothy, Norma, Evelyn, Joyce, Daryl, Cleta and Della.
They lived most of their lives on their farm southeast of Lone Wolf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry Sarah Ann Davis.

He was survived by his wife, Floy Ellen Davis and their nine children: Ellen Davis Rock and husband Ivan, Priest River, Idaho; Warren G. Davis, Texas; Dorothy Davis Beutler Niece and husband Ferd, Alfalfa, Oklahoma; Norma Davis, Hobart, Oklahoma; Evelyn Davis Whisenhunt and husband Floyd, Lincoln, Nebraska; Joyce Davis McMillin and husband J. C., Texas; Daryl Davis and wife Nancy, Lone Wolf, Oklahoma; Cleta Davis Chain and husband Garland, Cooperton, Oklahoma; and Della Davis Collins and husband Albert, Hobart, Oklahoma.

Funeral services were held at the Lone Wolf High School Auditorium, Lone Wolf, Oklahoma on Wednesday, March 10, 1972 at 2:00 PM with George Bish and Virgil Fox officiating.

Pall Bearers were Hubert Evatt, Harold Blevins, Walter Sagely, William Perry, Elmer Koester, and Jack Funkhouser. Honorary Pall Bearers were T. F. Smith, Sr., L. E. Price, John Stiles, Ross Funkhouser, Clarence Beutler, Roy Funkhouser, Waldo Koester, and Pollard Brooks.

Burial was in Lone Wolf Cemetery, Lone Wolf, Kiowa County, Oklahoma, under direction of People's Cooperative Funeral Home.
