Burt Willard, Sr., 77, of Newport departed this life Thursday, May 2, 2019 in Little Rock. He was born September 29, 1941 to Johnny and Ethel (Pruitt) Willard in Weona, Arkansas. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and an Army Veteran. Mr. Willard enjoyed fishing, rabbit, squirrel and coon hunting, vegetable gardening, boating, and watching old Army and western movies. He retired in 2013 after 45 years of service from the City of Newport Public Works Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Ann Willard, parents; and sister; Minnie Herring.
His survivors are son; Burt Willard, Jr. (Jennifer) of Newport, daughter; Mary Beth Cagle (Eddie) of Newport, his companion for nine years; Eva Bedwell of Amagon, brother; Henry Willard of Newport, sisters; Ernestine Pettit (Jim) of Thida, and Rachel Beard (Fred) of Newport, four grandchildren; Peyton Gregory of Velvet Ridge, Eric Cagle of Newport, Adam Cagle of Newport, and Brittney Dodson of Newport, nine great grandchildren, three dogs; Mugsy, Bittie, and Baby Girl, and numerous friends.
