Mr. Willard retired from the City of Newport. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Immanuel Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching westerns, gardening and fishing. He supported Compassionate International and sponsored several children throughout their lives until they reached the age of eighteen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Opal Willard, his brother, Burt Willard Sr., and his sister; Minnie Herring.
He is survived by his niece, Amanda Holley of Rosie, his sisters; Ernestine Pettit of Thida, and Rachel Beard of Newport and a host of nieces and nephews.
Service will be 10:00 Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Pennington Cemetery.
