Daughter of Jacob and Mary (Aichelmann) Lauer. Amelia married Morton Cleland on July 16, 1918 in Perry Co., Indiana. They had six sons and two daughters:

Milroy Man's Mother Dies

Mrs. Amelia Cleland, 77, of Greensburg, mother of Arthur Cleland, R.R. 1, Milroy, died at 2 am today in Memorial Hospital there after a few days illness.
A resident of Decatur County most of her life, Mrs. Cleland was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Surviving with the son near Milroy are three other children in Greensburg, a sister in Indianapolis, a brother in Tell City, 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two step-children.
She was the widow of Morton Cleland, who died in 1955. Two children and five brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
The Rev. Robert Williams will conduct services at 1 pm Saturday at the J. H. Porter and Sons Funeral Home in Greensburg, where friends may call after 2 pm Friday, with burial in South Park Cemetery there.
