William E. "Bill" Mattingly, age 70, of Cloverport, died Thursday, February 26 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born July 8, 1933 in Breckinridge County, a son of the late Joseph and Myrtle Beavin Mattingly. He was a retired rural mail carrier from the Cloverport Post Office, a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Eugene Mattingly on March 3, 1962. Mr. Mattingly is survived by his wife, Wanda Mattingly of Cloverport; 2 sons, Andy and Tracy Mattingly, both of Cloverport; 2 daughters, Tammy Townsend of Cloverport and Sandy Haynes of Harned; a sister, Barbara Mingus of Cloverport and 9 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 28, at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father Tony Bickett officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Cloverport. Burial: Calvary Cemetery. Visitation: From 3:30 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport. Vigil prayers: 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
