SAN ANGELO - Ila Fae Mathis, 78, of San Angelo, Texas, beloved mother and friend, went to be with Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2008. Ila Fae was born to Aaron Walter and Addie Powell Bratcher at Dave Cook's Place on Feb. 2, 1930, in Lynn County, Texas. Ila Fae was very active in church as a member of Edmund Boulevard Baptist Church. She was a loved part of the congregation and Sunday school class and had many close friends. She worked most of her life as an accountant before she retired from the state school after many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Marla Padier and her husband, John, of Christoval, Texas; her son, Lance Mathis of San Angelo; her brother, A.W. Bratcher; her grandchildren, Brandon and Carey Miller, Jeremy Mathis and his wife Katy, Sarah Mathis and Nate Bacorn; her adopted grandchildren, Stephanie Brown and Brandon Hill; stepgrandchildren, Sarah and Aaron Padier; great-grandchildren Tashiana Steen, and the triplets Coy, Max, and Lily Mathis, and Dakota Mathis. She was loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, at Edmund Boulevard Baptist Church with the interment to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will have a visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Johnson's Funeral Home.
