Sarah Jane J. Rees
  LOA, Wayne County -- Mrs. Sarah Jane Rees, died at 5 a.m. in her home in Loa July 18 of causes incident to age. She was the daughter of William and Sarah Ann Ashton John, born Sept. 24, 1868, in East Portage, Box Elder county. She was married to Thomas Parley Rees in the Logan L D S temple Dec. 31, 1884, and moved to Wayne county as one of its most active pioneers.
  The couple first settled in what is now Bicknell 58 years ago, and later moved to Loa, where she had lived ever since. Mrs. Rees had been an active worker in the L D S church, centering most of her activities in the Relief society, having been counselor and a teacher many years.
  Her record as a service man's grandmother shows 14 grandsons serving in the U. S. armed forces, two in the navy, three in the army air forces and nine in the regular army. She had a total of 38 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Besides her grandchildren, she is survived by the following: Mrs. Margaret Peterson, Parley Rees, Brigham Rees, Cora Taylor, Rachel Sheffield and Nephi Rees, Loa; Mrs. Mary Ellen Blackburn and Mrs. Lucile Torgerson, Salt Lake; Mrs. Ethel Herron, Los Angeles, and Heber Rees, Hanksville, and the following brothers: Levi John, Robert John and Curtis John of Arizona and Richard John and Nephi John of Malad, Ida.
