Jerry was born March 21, 1935, in Liebenthal, Kansas, the son of Marcus and Cecilia (Legleiter) Kreutzer. He was a lifelong Rush County, Kansas, resident. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School, Liebenthal, Kansas, and Schoenchen High School, Schoenchen, Kansas. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas.
On May 25, 1959, he married Neoma Spicka at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, Kansas.
Jerry enjoyed being outdoors. Gardening, and mowing his yard were his favorite outdoor pastimes. He also enjoyed reading. Over the years, Jerry worked for John Weitzel Manufacturing; Phillip Weitzel; Jim's Champlin Service Station (Jim Herrman); Humburg's; and the Rush County Nursing Home, all of La Crosse, Kansas.
Survivors include: his wife, Neoma Kreutzer, La Crosse, Kansas; his son, Thomas "Tom" Kreutzer, La Crosse, Kansas; his granddaughter, Alisha Kreutzer, La Crosse, Kansas; his sister, Mary Virginia Schaffer, New Mexico; and his buddy, Sparky, his dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Timothy "Tim" Kreutzer; one brother, Francis Kreutzer; three sisters, Rose Zimmer, Melezina Allen, and Bernadette Augustine; and one infant sister, Mary Virginia Kreutzer.
Funeral services were held September 12, 2022, with Father Stephen Dabanka officiating. Interment was in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
