Birdie Roselle Sparks was born in Andrews County, Missouri to Milton/Anliza Sparks on September 20, 1884. The Sparks family moved to Pottawatomie(Oklahoma County), Oklahoma and on November 26, 1902, she married Dale Wilbur Gilliland in Oklahoma City. They established a home near Newalla and in the 1910 census lived in Washington, Caddo County. From there, they moved to a farm near Minco. They had at least seven children - Clarence, Lonnie, Hazel(who died in infancy), Edna Nadine(also died young), Ruth Helen, Dale Wilbur Jr., and Elby Lee. She died on August 12, 1955 after moving into the town of Minco and is buried there.
