George Cox died here Sunday morning after a long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday.
George Monroe Cox was born January 11, 1875 in Herron, Illinois. He moved to Oklahoma in 1889, and on June 5, 1902, he was married to Miss Lileta Bell.
To this union nine children were born, of whom one daughter, Georgia preceded her father in death in 1917.
He brought his family to Chelan in 1912 where he has remained ever since having been one of the prominent orchardists of the valley.
Besides his widow, he is survived by: five sons, Alfred, Terry, Frank, Lee and Mack of Wenatchee; three daughters, Lilie of Seattle, Mrs. Douglas Adams and Wilma; two brothers, Fred and Roy of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Norwell of Elreno, Oklahoma, Mrs. Rex Homan of Arapaho, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Dora Pierrot of Portland.
