J. F. Cagle died Friday, October 11, at his home two miles north of town.

John F. Cagle was born in Benton Co., Tennessee, on Feb. 22, 1853. He was the oldest of a family of seven living children. When he was nine years old the family moved to Massac Co., Illinois, and there he acquired his education. When twenty-one he journeyed to Missouri. In Cedar County of that state, Dec. 9, 1875, he married Miss Flora McMillen of Missouri. In 1883 Mr. Cagle with his wife and three children started west and journeyed to the Big Ben country where he resided at Earl P. O., Lincoln County, being postmaster there for twelve years. In 1908 he came to Chelan where he lived ever since.

He leaves a wife, six children, Laura Bell Hildreth, Lura Dell Cooley, Luman Arthur at Espanola, Wa., Walter, Jay, Annie Jane, and Lester J. Cagle; also eight grandchildren, a mother and six brothers and sisters to mourn his loss.
