Helen graduated from Milan High School in 1953. She then worked for Milan State Bank. Helen was a member of Peoples Presbyterian Church. She had a talent for cooking, dancing, and playing cards. Helen loved to read and tend the flowers in her garden. Her greatest joy was raising her children.
Besides her husband Doug, she is survived by three children, Mike (Lynne) Edwards of Knoxville, Iowa, Mark (Esther) Edwards of Porter, Texas, Christine (Kirk) Shingledecker of Gregory, Michigan, five grandchildren, Kristi (Jason), James (Aimee), Amanda (Russell), Marcie (Joshua), and Autumn, eight great grandchildren, Cooper, Jack, Julius, Aleksi, Mason, Hailey, Jackson and Helen, one sister, Margaret Zigler of Saline, Michigan, many nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special cousin, Eva Kovacs.
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Tuesday, January 2nd from 12:00pm until time of funeral service at 2:00pm.
