Mrs. Fannie Reser Dies
Services were held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Rossville Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Fannie L. Reser who died Sunday in a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Reser was born March 16, 1877, in Rossville. She was the last of nine children born to Daniel and Melinda Wilt, who were originally from Pennsylvania. The Wilt family was one of the pioneer families settling in Rossville in the early 1800's.
Mrs. Reser's husband, Albert, died in April, 1950, and she moved to the Methodist Home in Topeka in June of 1954. She was a dedicated member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church and served as Sunday School superintendent for many years. She gave the organ to the church in honor of her husband.
It was also her great pride and satisfaction to be a graduate of the Menninger Bible Course. She held a life membership in the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are seven nieces, Mrs. Floyd Flanagan [*1] and Mrs. Gladys Hook [wife of William Lowell Hook and daughter of Arthur and Susan (Wilt) Jameison] of Topeka; Mrs. J. L. Bruce and Mrs. Homer Reid of Rossville; Mrs. Ebert Flory of Wichita; Mrs. Horace Adams, Scottsdale, Arizona; and Mrs. Edward Sawitze, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; three nephews, Earl Wilt of Salina, Roy Wilt of Rossville, and L. R. Jamieson of Mission, Kansas.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Donald Sears. Mrs. Don Berkey was organist and pallbearers were Joe M. Gresser, J.C. Campbell, Perry Stumbaugh, Marvin Davis, John Fauerbach, and James Rezac. Interment was in Rossville Cemetery with Hurley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
