From the LaFollette Press, Thursday, September 10, 1970:

John Mack Adkins, 48, of Lake City, died last Sunday night at Lake City Hospital.

He was an employee of Magnavox Corporation and was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marjorie White Adkins; two sons, John Roger and Brian Kelly, both of Lake City; three brothers, Robert V. Adkins of Maryville, Glen D. Adkins of Claxton and Buford A. Adkins of Lake Charles, La.; two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Johnson and Mrs. K. B. Augenstein, both of Lake Charles, La.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Lake City United Methodist Church by Rev. Ralph Cline. Burial was in Norris Memorial Gardens.
